CAMILLE JEAN BAPTISTE COROT (French, 1796 - 1875). Souvenir de Toscane (Souvenir of Tuscany), 1875, Etching (fourth state) executed in 1845 and published in "Gazette des Beaux-Arts" April 11, 1875. Signed in plate. Inscribed in plate: ''Corot Del.& Sculp." and "Gazette des Beaux-Arts / Souvenir de Toscane / Imp. A. Salmon Paris''. The plate was apprently discovered by the engraver Felix Bracquemond in a box of nails and was first printed in 1865. Note: The artwork is not glued down to a hard surface; it is mounted with hinges to a removable back board.
