Thompson, each pencil-signed by the artist and numbered from the edition, titled in graphite beneath the image, and presented under glass in coordinating frames. "Rosette Shawl," numbered 55/100, depicts a seated woman viewed from behind. "Backless," numbered 20/75, portrays a kneeling woman seen from behind in a low-draped. "Magic Flute," numbered 28/75, shows a barefoot young woman in a lace-trimmed dress seated cross-legged. Framed.

ARTIST PROFILE: A native of Colorado, Mark Thompson earned his B.A. in Commercial Art from Colorado State University, worked briefly as a commercial illustrator in Chicago, and then returned to Colorado, where he taught art for ten years and completed coursework toward an M.A. in drawing and painting at the University of Northern Colorado before turning to his art full time in 1981, working in egg tempera and etching; over the years he has received numerous awards from exhibitions including the American Artist's Professional League (NY), the Knickerbocker Artist's (NY), the Salmagundi Club (NY), the Allied Artist's of America (NY), and the Colorado Governor's Invitational, and he now teaches a class in egg tempera painting at the Art Students League of Denver as a member of both the International Guild of Realism and the Society of Tempera Painters. His major exhibitions include Artists of America (1992-2001), the Colorado Governors Invitational (1993-present), The Best of Southwest Art museum exhibition (1995-1996), the U.S. State Department Collection at the U.S. Embassy in Brussels, Belgium, and *The New Reality: The Frontier of Realism in the 21st Century*, shown at the Wichita Art Museum in Wichita, KS (2008), Springfield Museums in Springfield, MA (2008), the R.W. Norton Gallery in Shreveport, LA (2008), the Museum of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX (2009), and Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, IA (2010), and he received Best of Show at the International Guild of Realism starting in 2008.
