PAPUA NEW GUINEA KINA SHELL NECKLACE, Mid-20th century. Patinated shell necklaces worn by either men or women. Kina shell necklace traditionally worn in the western highlands of Papua New Guinea as pectorals with a fiber strap. There are remnants of red paste that is used to decorate the surface and highlight the pecked border. Signs of usage. - Width: 7.75 inches.
