A CHINESE HONGMU BARREL STOOL (ZUODUN).Qing dynasty, 18th-19th century. The circular top inset with richly figured rouge marble above a rounded seat frame accented with a single rib and supported by four bold vertical struts and shaped apron. Each strut pierced with an oval aperture and secured by linked quatrefoil braces, the circular foot stretcher with confronting apron and rib, all set on four splayed feet.
