Silver mounts appear only on front of box, marks are legible. Top right cartouche is missing small foliate branch at bottom; bottom left cartouche is similar, bottom sides of central cartouche have separated from box. Wear and stains to exterior leather consistent with age, edges with worn leather. Areas of silver cartouches have been rubbed and loss of crispness is evident mostly in the faces of the putti.
