ENGLISH GEORGIAN CORNER CABINET,18th century, scrubbed pine, with traces of red paint. Rectangular surround enclosing arching domed top with shell-carved plaque; three shaped shelves over paneled lower doors opening to storage with butterfly shelf. - 92 in. x 45 in. x 17 in. Estimate $700-900
The cupboard bears traces of red and white paint. Evidence suggests that the upper section once included paired doors. The lower doors are likely of later manufacture. Replaced sections were located on the surround (proper left side: 2 small sections), plinth base (center: long board), applied molded edge of lower section above the two cabinet doors. Some sections of the barrel back alcove were replaced over time. The applied carved shell is likely of later date.
