The Lit D'Alcove remains in very good condition having been recently conserved. This conservation addressed minor areas where secondary wood movement unseated the primary veneered surface. Further, minor age cracks have been toned and small losses patched with similarly figured walnut veneers. As with many 19th century pieces, we found large age cracks and prior worm damage, which are naturally expected for pieces dating to this period and region.
