VICTORIAN DUET MUSIC STAND,late 19th century, fruitwood. With four brass candle-arms above adjustable notched rod within tapering columnar standard on tripartite scrolled legs - Shelf: 13 in. x 18 in. Estimate $1,200-1,500
The Duet Music Stand survives in very good condition. Examination found that 1.) one candle arm was missing a drip pan, 2.) the circular platform into which the notched rod sits was repaired at one time and has since developed an age crack that will require restoration, 3.) wood movement in the secondary wood surface on the tripod base has unseated minor areas in the primary veneered surface. These condition issues may be considered minor and do not detract from the overall charm of this beautiful stand.
