GERMAN SHADOW BOX CASE, late 18th/early 19th century, possibly by Johann Martin Artz (active 1752-1800), without mechanism. Scotia frame with egg-and-dart enrichment enclosing gilded ground; the dial, Roman numerals, rests above aperture; the whole encased in gilded rectangular frame with hinged glass door - 17 in. x 14 in. x 4 3/4 in.
