JAPANESE LONG SWORD (KATANA), Koto/ Shinto period (pre 1600 to 17th century). Blade: 1/8 inch ground off entire edge to fit into gunto scabbard, faint large gonome temper, no openings. Nakago (tang): Suriagi (partially cut off), Machi moved, sighned and dated but too indistinct to read, in gunto World War Two mounts. - 27 7/8 in/ 70 4/5 cm.
