Not lined, stretched on a mid-20th century stretcher; slight stretcher stress. Regular pattern of vertical craquelure throughout canvas; yellowed varnish and minor scattered debris; area of overpaint in sky near upper left edge and above ruins at top right edge, 1/4 in. L-shaped indentation with very minor pigment loss in fallen column in lower left; surface scratch at top edge to right of clouds. UV: Fine.
