SET FIVE NEW ENGLAND FAN-BACK WINDSOR CHAIRS,circa 1795-1810. Each gracefully curved crest with carved ears; seven-spindle back with baluster-shaped stiles; chamfered seat with pronounced pommel; conical-turned legs and H-form stretchers, together with ladder-back with rush woven seat. - 37 3/4 in. x 15 in. x 16 1/4 in. The assembled set was originally painted and this was removed during a professional conservation. Prior repairs to stretcher, crest rail, and underside of plank-board seat. Today, one stretcher loose. Otherwise very good overall condition.
