GOLF LOT: TOM STEWART RTJ MODEL 3-IRON. Together with two other irons made in Scotland. Estimate $250-350
Note: During his 1930 run to the Grand Slam, Bobby Jones had four irons in his play set made by Stewart of St. Andrews, the dean of iron club makers. In 1931 Stewart introduced his RTJ-marked clubs to commemorate Jones'' use of clubs made by him. However, since Jones was an amateur, Stewart couldn''t legitimately place Jones'' name on the clubs. Stewart also used the initials RTJ without permission, a practice that Jones requested he cease.
