RENAISSANCE REVIVAL INFLUENCE DARK-FINISH CARVED OAK TALL-CASE CLOCK BY KIENZLE OF SWENNINGEN, GERMANY, late 19th/ early 20th century. Time and strike weight driven movement with strike rod chiming mechanism; signed " Kienzle" "DRGM" (Deutsches Reich Gebrauchsmuster or German Reich Registered Design), "Celesta-Gong" (percussion instrument similar to upright piano), flat carved cornice over square "bonnet" centering round dial with gilt face recessed behind round glass panel fully revealing pendulum and weights; rectangular paneled base has applied scroll decoration within carved border; reeded bun feet.
