PAIR CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY OPEN ARM CHAIRS, late 18th century, damask upholstery. Damask upholstered slip seat; yoked crest rail; chamfered ears; delicate carved pierced ribbon splat; Flemish S-scroll arms with warm patina from wear; carved arm supports; gadrooned seat rail; carved knees; cabriole legs; with claw-and-ball feet; sabre rear legs. - 41 1/2 in. x 23 3/4 in. x 17 in.

Overall very good condition for a pair of chairs of this age.
Chair 1: Refinished; hairline age cracks; crack in top of splat; very slight wood losses on rail and knee; minor scuffs and scratches.
Chair 2: Slight abrasion to back; slight stain in upholstery; minor scuffs and scratches, especially to legs.
