GEORGE II MAHOGANY DOCTOR'S MEDICINE CHEST, circa 1730. Warm, patinated mahogany; early brass mounts; batwing style brasses with bail handles; brass escutcheon with lock and key; double door hanged back; each side with 24 brass pulls for graduated drawers and sliding compartments; smaller drawers pull out, some with sliding tops; larger compartments lined with green felt and include glass vials of various shapes, many with hand inscriptions; includes notes in English, French and Spanish regarding the background of the chest - 10 1/2 in. x 10 3/4 in. x 10 1/4 in.
