PHILADELPHIA MAHOGANY TALL CASE CLOCK. 19th century. Time and strike iron and brass weight driven movement, unsigned, having been replaced with early Sessions electric movement together with chime rods; (original movement is in box with original saddleboard); painted metal face with black Roman hour markers on chapter ring with Arabic quarter hour markers on outer edge of ring; painted seashells among brown and green foliage for spandrels; arch with lunar calendar dial depicting moon, tall ship with American flag and landscape scenes; broken arch bonnet with wood side finials above fluted square columns; brass eagle center finial (probably replacement); case poised on French feet - 96 in. high; with finial 98 in. high.
