DUTCH MARQUETRY INLAID TALL-CASE CLOCK, Signed I. P. Kroese, circa 1740. Cove-molded domed bonnet centers high relief-carved leaf-and-volute cartouche; scrolling blind fretwork frieze; domed glazed door centered by two brass-mounted tapering columns; brass face with ornate steel hands and black enamel Roman numerals; subsidiary seconds dial; calendar dial; date train; moon phase dial; applied openwork; brass spandrels; time-and-strike, weight-driven brass movement. Waist has shaped door and chamfered corners; glazed pendulum rondel with applied ormolu mount, shaped base with scrolling corners. Elaborate floral marquetry ivory and mother-of-pearl inlay throughout. - 100 1/2 in. x 20 1/2 in. x 12 in.
