GEORGE III BURR WALNUT TEA CADDY. early 19th century. Sarcophagus form; the hinged lid opening to reveal two compartments, the covers with turned ivory knobs; with later brass lion's head ring pull handles, and foliate paw feet - 7 in. x 9 in. x 5 3/4 in.
Estimate $300-500

In overall excellent condition. Handles and feet were added later. The cover with a loose edge along one side, the front with slight buckle on one area of the walnut. The ivory knobs without losses. The underside of the cover is paper lined, the rest of the interior is unlined.
