PAIR FRENCH PAINTED OPALINE GLASS VASES, late 19th century. Green ground; hand-painted portrait, within gilt medallion; Greek Key borders; bronze-doré mounts. Mounted as lamps - 24 1/2 in. high, overall.

PROVENANCE: Estate of Erna M. Hoffberger, Middleburg, VA

The vases themselves are 15 in. high. The handles and foot mounts are original to the vases - these were not added as part of the lamp conversion. The lamp fittings are tight - there is no give. The vases were drilled for electrical conversion. Each gilt medallion with losses (visible in photo).
