HANDCOLORED MEZZOTINT, "THE JOLLY FLAT BOAT MEN", After George Caleb Bingham (American, 1811-1879). Circa 1847. Handcolored mezzotint depicting men on a flat boat. Published by the American Art Union, 1847. Title margin with medallion for the American Art Union, New York. Printed by Powell & Co. Framed in wooden frame with giltwood filet with paper mat. - Framed dimensions: 31 3/8 in. high x 33 1/2 in.wide. Sight size: 21 1/4 in. high x 24 in. wide.

The frame is a simple wood, in good condition with minor abrasions. The glass is intact. Regarding the print, there is a repaired tear on the center middle margin, the tear/repair extends slightly into the image. There is a hole over the letters "gi" in the word "original" in the bottom left area of the border. The top margin with three small visible repairs - left corner, center and right corner; the tears/repairs do creep into the image on all three of these slightly.
