PLAINS INDIAN STONE CLUB,19th-20th century, possibly Lakota, Sioux. Stone held in place and to the wooden handle by very wide vertical thick leather sinews and by a wrapping of thick leather sinews at the top of the handle, with large old brass tacks holding sinews in place. At bottom of sinews is a shock of animal hair, followed immediately below with a decorative cross made of smaller brass tacks. Bottom portion of handle is wrapped with wide leather straps, affixed to handle by large old brass tacks. Bottom of handle is pierced by a round hole - 18 1/2 in. long. Estimate $400-600
