SAMUEL MORTI FRENCH EMPIRE SPECIMEN MARBLE REGULATOR CLOCK, Marked to works Medaille d'Or Samuel Marti, Paris 1900. Variegated specimen marble surmounted with a bronze lion resting paw on an ormolu ball. Round glass cased porcelain dial having roman numerals and marked H. Th. Van Wijk & La Hage, flanked by four ormolu mounted columns, raised on plinith base on four pad feet. 8-day clock comes with two keys, the pendulum in the form of a medusa mask. - 19 5/8" high x 9" wide x 5 1/8" deep.

Clock chimes when hands are advanced and regulates for a time before stopping. Marble in very good condition, having no chips, breaks or restorations. Bronze lion has a nice patina. Two areas of chips to the dial near the openings to the winder.
