AFRICAN WOOD AND LEATHER LUTE. A group of musical instruments, headrests, ornaments and utilitarian artifacts, including a long necked lute, carved from a single trunk, with leather tympanum and strings, a drum, a thumb harp "tzantza", a wood milk container, a Luba-Shankadi headrest or miniature stool in the shape of a kneeling woman, a Nigerian small tripod stool with swirling design, two fiber and leather baskets with dark patina, and one basket decorated with cowrie shells.
