SCHOOLGIRL NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER. Worked by Susanna Nash, November 12, 1858. Oval; incorporating alphabet rows, centering a verse; with scrolling floral border. Worked in polychrome silk threads on linen ground. Framed - 14 1/4 in. x 12 1/4 in., sight size.
Estimate $400-600

Colors have faded with time and linen ground has thinned. Verse and alphabet is legible. There are holes of various sizes throughout and tears around the border.
