PAIR OSCAR BACH SIGNED BRONZE TWO-LIGHT LAMPS. First Quarter 20th century. Bronze table lamps in the form of stylized birds on sphere. Dark green & brown patina. Signature engraved on underside of base on one lamp.

NOTE: Oscar Bruno Bach started his career in his native Germany, one of his early designs a prayer book cover for Pope Pius, remains in the Vatican permanent collection. He won the Grand Prix at the World Exhibition in Turin in 1911. From 1911 to his death he lived in New York , where he set up his studio, exhibiting regularly at the Metropolitan Museum of Industrial Art. His work appears in the Empire State building, Rockefeller Centre, the Chrysler Building, among others.
