AUSTRIAN CARVED EBONIZED AND GOLD-LEAF VITRINE CABINET, Late 18th century. Unmarked. Ebonized and gilt vitrine surmounted by carved wooden finial; glazed door panel to front opening to two shelves and interior having applied velvet. Glazed panels to sides of case which has extensive carved giltwood foliate embellishment throughout, all raised on plinith base. Consignor purchased the cabinet in Budapest. - 50 7/8" high x 30 3/8" deep x 13 7/8" deep.

Several areas of painted gold to areas of loss of original gilt and ebonized surface repainted. Overall however, the gilt is old and in very good condition. Case is structurally solid. Back of case having wormholes to carved elements, vertical panels. Lacking the key.
