PAIR OF FRENCH GILT METAL MOUNTED TWO LIGHT SCONCES: STANDING LIONS ON COBALT BLUE PLAQUES, 19th/20th Century. Unmarked other than 35 to underside of porcelain plates. Oval cobalt blue porcelain plates centered by pierced coat of arm border, surmounted by crown/foliate. Sconces having two lights with fleur d' lis motif candleholders, supported by folitate arms centering a lion mask. Electrified. - 23 3/8" high x 13 1/8" wide x 5 3/4" deep.
Estimate $300-400

Porcelain plates in good condition aside from traces of glue to border where they are mounted to frame. Some traces of tape residue securing wiring to back of plates. Plates have no cracks, a few areas of wear of surface to back of plates. Front of plates very clean. Wear to gilt metal. Structurally sound. Wiring is old.
