19TH CENTURY AMERICAN FLAME MAHOGANY BUTLERS DESK.19th Century. Top having a moulded edge over four long drawers with ring pulls. The top drawer is retractable, and the front drops, opening to a secretary with replaced leather writing surface, a center compartment with one drawer, flanked by four banks of compartments and drawers. Top drawer has a lock, but no key is present for this chest. Raised on bracket feet. Wide boards to the back of the case. - 42 3/4" high x 38 3/4" wide x 19 1/2" deep. Estimate $400-500
Pulls are replaced. There are splits, minor lifting and areas of loss to the veneer. Splits to the bottoms of the drawers. The pulls are replaced but do have age. The leather writing surface is replaced.
