TWO FRAMED 19TH CENTURY, OF THE PERIOD, GEORGE BROOKSHAW AQUATINTS OF FRUITS FROM POMONA BRITANNICA. George Brookshaw (British, 1751-1823), Published London. Two silver giltwood framed (frames are not identical), of the period, handcolored aquatints after George Brookshaw: Plate #LXXXVII, Cherry & Apples; and XIV, Cherries, which is accompanied by an original title page from the folio. (2 total).

Pomona Britannica was issued in parts between 1804 and 1808. The complete edition, which was dedicated to the Prince of Wales, was published in 1812. The folio illustrated over two hundred and fifty varieties of fruit. Many of the specimens came from the Royal Gardens at Hampton Court and Kensington Gardens. - Framed: 23 1/2" high x 18 3/4" wide. Sight: 21 1/4" high x 16 5/8" wide.

Not examined out of frame, though well framed in recent years. Does not appear to have any tears. Minor toning associated with age. The frames are not identical, though present well together. One of the frames does not have glass.
