TWO 18TH CENTURY GEORGIAN MAHOGANY KNIFE BOXES, 18th century. Two knife boxes of different design. The first with shell inlay to interior of cover, and insert for knives, measuring 14 1/2" high x 8 7/8" wide x 13 1/2" deep. No lock or key. The second of different design, with silverplate escutcheon, is lacking the insert, and measures 14 1/4" high x 9" wide x 10" deep.

Both with areas of loss to veneer. Both are lacking locks and keys. One is lacking the insert to hold knives. Both hinges in need of adjustment. Minor splits to both. One with area of significant loss to veneer to the right side. One with area of loss to moulding to base. General wear and losses associated with age and use.
