THOMPSON, JAMES H. W.6 Soi Kasemsan II - An Illustrated Survey of the Bangkok Home of James H. W. Thompson. Bangkok, Thailand: Printed By Siva Phorn Limited Partnership, 1962. Revised Second Edition. Publisher's binding: leather spine over silk-covered boards. James Harrison Wilson Thompson [1906-1967] was an architect/designer - turned war-time spy - turned silk merchant. He assembled a magnificent house in Thailand, using parts of many structures, and filled his house with antiques and interesting objects of many sorts. This copy is signed by Thompson, which is all the more interesting since he disappeared on the 26th of March, 1967, while visiting Pahang, Malaysia. Many theories have been advanced in the fifty years since. PROVENANCE: Estate of Jim Graham, former Washington, DC, Councilman Estimate $40-80
