Three framed, of the period, engravings depicting views, first is trimmed Braun & Hogenberg view of city in Spain, Burgos, with old color. Georg Braun & Frans Hogenberg , from Civitatus Orbis Terrarum, Cologne, 1572- 77.Upper panel of original sheet, which measures 6 1/2 in. high x 19 in. wide, framed in silver painted narrow molding, with old mat. Framed dimensions: 12 7/8 in. high x 24 15/16 in. wide.
The second, Pierre Vander, Die Statt Bacharach, View of Bacharach, 1657, framed in gold leaf narrow molding, with old mat. Uncolored sheet appears to measure 8 in. high x 19 in. wide, and was trimmed down from full sheet. Vintage framing with old label to back for Karl Vonderbank, Frankfurt. Frame measures 12 3/4 in. high x 22 7/8 in. wide.
Last framed city view, Monachium Munchen, Views of Munich, is mounted in gold leaf molded frame, with old mat, and measures 19 5/8 in. high x 21 5/8 in. wide framed. Depicts an uncolored bird's eye view, with coat of arms and building index. From Merian's Topographia Bavariae, 1645. (3 total). Estimate $150-200
Toning to all three. The Braun & Hogenberg with old color, some fading and bleeding. Crease to the center of the sheet associated with having been bound. Crease to the center of the Munich view associated with having been bound. Bacharach appears to be quite good aside from toning. None have been examined out of frame as the moulding is in solid vintage condition and were professionally framed at one point. None appear to be laid down. Minor wear to all frames. The glass is intact to all.
