SIGNED MYRON SARRACINO NATIVE AMERICAN BLACK-ON-WHITE GEOMETRIC LAGUNA PUEBLO SIGNED SARRACINO JAR. Black-on-White Geometric Jar signed M. Sarracino, Laguna Pueblo and next to it is a painted black handprint. The jar features a bold, classic Black-on-White style with a large central motif and a highly prominent spiral or curvilinear design. The spiral is framed by sharp stepped or zigzag motifs around the shoulder and rim. These stepped designs often represent clouds or mountains, serving as prayers for rain and good harvest.
ARTIST PROFILE: Myron Sarracino, "Kaa Ooa Dinn Naa", is a full blooded Native American Indian. He was born into the Laguna Pueblo in 1967. He began hand coiling pottery in 1984 at the age of 17. Myron was inspired to continue the long lived tradition of hand coiling pottery by Verna Soloman (friend), Thelma and Sandy Sarracino, grandparents), and his friend and teacher, the famous, "Gladys Paquin". She taught Myron all the fundamentals of traditional pottery making. Myron uses all natural pigments to construct his high quality pottery. Myron signs his work as: Myron Sarracino, Laguna Pueblo.
