TED SETH JACOBS (American, 1927 - 2019). Three works: "The New Hat," Serita," and "Contemplation.", Set of three drawings including two nude figure studies and a costume portrait. The first is a portrait of a seated woman , rendered primarily in sanguine chalk on tan paper, utilizing white highlights to give the sophisticated dress and large hat a sense of texture and volume. The two nude studies are varied: one is a full-figure, horizontal reclining pose , executed with a fluid, confident line and minimal shading in red/brown crayon; The other is a cropped seated nude , drawn in a sharp, controlled linear style with heavy contour lines, presented on a piece of torn, irregularly shaped paper, giving it an informal, study-like feel. All are framed individually. None were examined out of frame.
