AMERICAN QUEEN ANNE HIGHBOY, mid-18th century, made in New England. altered; original bonnet top removed. Upper section has straight molded pediment over central drawer with recessed inlaid satinwood stylized shell motif; large drawer centered by two smaller drawers above three graduated drawers, all crossbanded with highly-figured crotch mahogany veneering. Lower section has one long drawer over two nearly-square drawers centering a third drawer with inverted inlaid shell motif; shaped apron has pendant drops; cabriole legs have carved volutes and end in pad feet; brass pulls old but not original. - H: 68 ¼"; L: 38 ½"; D: 31".
