BRAZILIAN ASHANINKA TRIBE FEATHER AND SEED BEAD BODY ORNAMENT (TXOSHKI), VALE DO JURUÁ, ACRE Ashaninka ethnographic body ornament (txoshki) originating from the Vale do Jurua region in Acre, Brazil. The ceremonial piece features a massive multi-strand drape composed of hundreds of dark, hand-strung seed beads interspersed with accent red seeds, bundled at the top with natural woven fiber cordage. Suspended alongside the strands is a substantial cascading drop ornament with clusters of carved seed-pod caps, smaller seed beads, and vibrant parrot and/or macaw plumage in brilliant shades of yellow, emerald green, cobalt blue, and crimson.
