Childers the Fleetest Horse that Ever run at Newmarket

20th-century equestrian print that depicts the famed undefeated racehorse Flying Childers, bred by Leonard Childers and owned by the Duke of Devonshire. The composition shows the horse in stride ridden by a jockey in a red coat, set within a highly ornate cartouche complete with a coat of arms and detailed text documenting his racing pedigree and victories. An attached gallery label from W. King Ambler (styled for Gabberts Inc.) notes the artwork belongs to a series of hand-colored horse-and-rider engravings originally published in the 18th century. Framed. Not examined out of frame.
