Igbo Peoples, Southeast Nigeria, Agbogho Mmuo or Maiden Spirit Mask surmounted by elaborate arrangement of oxen, snakes, leopard, man on horseback and guardians. Hand-carved and painted wood with old and newer fabric cowling. From a single section of softwood log. 39" tall, 12" diam. Some losses, signs of use. - height: 47 inches.
