NIGERIAN PAIR OF YORUBA IBEJI TWIN MEMORIAL FIGURES Patinated pair of carved wood ibeji figures (a male and a female) from the Yoruba peoples of Nigeria, each standing on a rounded base with the characteristic oversized head with high coiffure, carved facial scarification, and a compact columnar body pierced with an open aperture at the torso. Each wears a beaded neck strung adornment of trade beads. Height: 11.5 inches (tallest statue)
