RUSSIAN ORTHODOX ICON OF THREE HOLY FIGURES Undated Russian Orthodox icon on a wooden panel of three holy figures standing in frontal poses characteristic of the Byzantine iconographic tradition. The central and flanking figures, possibly Saint John the Baptist and Saint Nicholas, are rendered with stylized features, each one holds a gilded reliquary box, and each one is dressed with richly decorated vestments trimmed in gold.
