SEAN C. WELLS American, 20th century Canoe, 2014 Oil on board Signed lower left. Verso titled, signed and dated. Framed. Artwork: 12 x 9 inches (excluding frame) $150-250
ARTIST PROFILE: Sean C. Wells is a versatile artist who demonstrates proficiency across multiple mediums, though he primarily favors oils on board alongside his work in watercolors and acrylics. He has cultivated a specialized niche in rustic, nautical themes, frequently drawing inspiration from the picturesque landscapes of Maryland’s Eastern Shore and the Chesapeake Bay. By exploring the bay's tributaries by boat, Wells seeks out "off limits" compositions—such as the channel markers and buoys that anchor many of his pieces—to provide viewers with a unique perspective on maritime life. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a BFA in Painting, he balances his creative practice with a professional role as a District Manager for Crozier Fine Arts in New Castle, Delaware. Currently, he resides and maintains his studio in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, where he lives with his wife, Kristen.
