THREE SEMINOLE OR MICCOSUKEE TRIBES OF FLORIDA DOLLS. Seminole / Miccosukee Palmetto Fiber Dolls. Seminole / Miccosukee Palmetto Fiber Dolls: the body and head might be constructed from a coarse, natural fiber, very likely palmetto fiber or husk. They are dressed in colorful, horizontal striped fabric. Lastly, these traditional dolls are often made without visible arms and legs (especially the female figures), using the conical or cylindrical shape of the palmetto fiber for the body. The middle doll is constructed from tightly bundled or woven dark, coarse natural fibers-likely palmetto fiber or husk, which is characteristic of traditional Seminole doll-making. The doll wears a bell-shaped, woven dress or skirt made from a lighter colored fiber, possibly raffia or braided palmetto leaf. - Height: Tallest doll: 11.5 inches.
