CONGOLESE KUYU PEOPLE KEBE-KEBE PUPPET HEAD. A Kebe-kebe puppet head, which is a traditional artifact from the Kuyu people of the Republic of Congo. These puppets are used in Kebe-kebe dance ceremonies that mark the end of initiation periods for boys and girls. The puppets are part of a "dance club," held high above the heads of dancers hidden under large cloaks. It is made of wood with polychrome decoration.
