It is difficult to understand why no Awret works have been offered at auction, as she was born in 1921 and has been an active artist since the close of World War II. The collector believes this Awret work to be a gem, manifesting incredible inventiveness and originality; in Mr. Fastov's opinion, it betrays a fine sense of color, choice of materials, and marvelous subject matter. It is a work of art that has much aesthetic appeal for him. If the reader looks at, visualizes, and appreciates its intricacies, and evaluates its merits with care, he or she will agree that presale estimates in the range of $300-$600 are both reasonable and justifiable.
