Blind stamp: E. Sagot Editeur, Paris. The artwork depicts "The Planter" as a tall, stern-looking man stands prominently in the center, identifiable as the European planter by his colonial-era attire and the Indigenous/African Figures (right and foreground) likely representing the local or enslaved people associated with the plantation. Prominently featured above the figures is a large sailing ship, often symbolizing the maritime trade, colonialism, or the journey (forced or otherwise) that brought the planter and the plantation workers together.
